Depends on what year of car is in question...

1970

"6" in 136 designates 8 cylinders. Could be SS but no way to prove in 70 without docs.

FWIW, in 1970 and 1971 the VIN MUST start with 136xx. Both SS option packages (396 and 454) could ONLY be odered on the Malibu series; 2-dr hardtop, 2-dr convertible, 2-dr sedan pickup (El Camino).
