I'm gettin' desperate here. I replaced the rusty core support on my '69 with a new one from OPG. The new core support fit the frame and fenders fine, but I've got some other problems.
1. the new inner fenders (plastic, OPG) are not long enough to reach the bolt holes in the core support. Without bolting to the core support, I'm not sure the inner fender will suppor t the battery.
2. The hood release and two vertical brackets that support the grill fit fine to the core support, but I can't get the dang flat filler panel below the grill to fit. If I fit it to the two brackets, it is at least an inch too far out to bolt to the hood release.
3. The bumper - I don't even want to talk about the bumper.
None of the parts got visibly bent while they were off, and I think the core support is correct as it matched up pretty well with the old one, which I prematurely threw out. Please let me know how to put this back together so I can get this beast on the road. Thanks,
Paul
