I thought the wheel base was the same on 64-67 chevelles and el camino. Jim

Wheel base IS the same... The "longer" portion is all behind the rear wheels...

I think its a fairly common swap to use an ElCo frame under a Chevelle, especially for a convertible, as the boxing/crossmember are the same...

Not sure of the specifics, but basically chop off several inches off the rear of the ElCo frame, and MAYBE attach the rear "Chevelle" crossmember (I am assuming its different because of the fuel filler knotch)...

El Caminos and station wagons share the same wheelbase and are longer than a Chevelle.

all 64-67 chevelles of any kind have the same length wheelbase. elco's and wagons are longer behind the rear tire by 4 inches. it is a easy modification either way.

Im hoping he brings it either tonight or this weekend. I havent heard yet but crossing my fingers. My friend thinks a big block and a VW bug body would make a cool project. I just don't know.....

Jim I think modifying for a vw body would be a waste of a good elky frame. Want to sell it or trade for something?

64-67 ALL chevelles and el caminos have 115" wheelbase
68-72 2-doors have 112", and 4-doors, wagons, and el caminos have 116" wheelbase

64-67 wagons and el caminos are 3-1/4" longer in the rear section
68-72 wagons and el caminos are 6-3/16" longer in the rear, and the rear body mounts are 1" lower than sedan/coupe/convertable frames (frame is flat, rather than curving up in the rear.

I think the elkys and wagons have a extra body mount as well.
