I know that a 3 wire alternator is better than a one wire but I already bought a one wire. I found a link on here to a Hot Rod mag. tech article on how to convert to the one wire, but now I can't find it. Any help would be appriciated.

isn't it just one wire to the battery terminal ?

There is nothing really to convert, with the 1 wire, just wire the alternator BAT terminal to the battery or horn relay ( or depending on the amperage use the original wire)

I thought there were some wires you had to tie together at the regulator.
