I am having trouble finding somebody that has Butternut Yellow in BaseCoat/ClearCoat paint.

My car is very close to getting paint applied so I thought it would be available but I guess it is not.

It is available in Centari single stage only so far. The paint store said they called DuPont for me, they said they could only get close to mixing some but it might not match.

Do most people match up colors by mixing trial and error when they are not available.

Any suggestions.

What kind of paint do you prefer?? Go to your paint store and have them read the color to get a formula.
I might be able to mix it in Standox, I would have to check Monday, I am a painter at a shop in North Royalton.

I'm not sure where Huber Heights is, but if you're within driving range to Hamilton, you might try Savage on Maple St. Their # is 513-887-2468.

Steve,
When I had my 70 painted, I took the code number in #28 blue and #10 white and the painter was able to reproduce it in a PPG material. I think many paint shops have the ability to cross reference the original code.

By the way, once the front end is aligned, my blue project will be road worthy. ;)

Sikkens has a colormap that has shades of every color imaginable. Hold a page up to your color and match to the right one. Sikkens is a very good urethane enamel, base coat clear coat system.

I repainted a quarter and door on a guys 68 camaro that was Butternut yellow. Dupont rep shot it with the Chromavision camera. Sent me a quart of color it may have been called sunflower yellow or something gay like that. But anyway it was a DEAD match. I would suggets getting it shot with the camera. BTW it was Chromabase (basecoat)
