I'm not very electrically inclined, and tried everything I could think of to get the interior lights (dome light, under dash lights, back of console light) to go off when I close the doors. Yesterday they just started staying on all the time. One at a time, I disconnected the wire leading to both door switches, lights stayed on. I disconnected the wiring to the headlight switch, thinking it might be shorting, and they still stay on. I pulled on all the wiring (jiggling some, following them with my fingers where I could), thinking it might be a short, lights stay on. I disconnected the wire from the fuse block, lights go off! But that really doesn't fix it. :(

Any other ideas?

i've heard of the screws that hold the lamp asembly into the headliner can cause a short(grounding the circuit) thus making the lamp stay on.

Awesome! I owe you a frosty beverage for that one. Took out the screws, connected the battery and the lights were off! re-wrapped the connections with electrical tap and problem solved! Thanks for the fast and accurate diagnosis.
