I have a '71 Chevelle, 2-dr HT. Was the color of the underside of the hood, originally the color of the car, or black like the engine compartment area?

I believe that the underside of the hood should be semigloss black. However many resto jobs have the underside painted to match the body. What is correct? is what you like :cool:
