I am doing this project in my garage and I am about to try my hand at my first car painting. I may take it to a paint booth, but have to bring my own gun.
What's a good gun priced under $175 that would work well on most things for a beginner? Is that asking too much? I will more than likely be using it to paint several cars in the long run.
One I was thinking about was Devilbis Finishline II, any thoughts on this gun? .... but the local paint shop guy was steering me towards an "Astro" or some other "made in taiwan" gun.

I have the finish line II and Im a beginner also, I have had very good results with this gun, but alot of guys here like the sharpe gun and I would trust their opinion since many are very experienced. I have seen the sharpe and it looks real nice, kind of wish I bought it.

if you go to the doctor gun message board and ask about the remanufactured gun program and you can get a Platinum for about 150 bucks.. That is where I got mine from and I can't complain at all... Good Luck

Get a remanufactured gun or save your money and get a high dollar gun.
I had a Finishline II but it caused me so many problems I gave it away!!!

Elcaminos are special!
I'd rather walk around with a Chevrolet hubcap in my hand than drive a Ford

Thanks for the advice guys. I am looking really hard at the Sharpe factory refurbished gun. It was a little more than I had planned on paying, but sounds like it is worth it, and I have a Chevelle friend that will help with costs if he can use it too. Looking over the budget now and will order it as soon as I get time after the budget review.
Thanks again for the great tip!
