: 69 Rear Bumper Quality

The rear bumper on my 69 looks OK at first glance, but actually it's a little twisted and doesn't align perfectly with the body. I see Ground Up has a reproduction unit available for $189, which isn't too bad. Has anybody bought one? Is the quality good? My car gets driven a lot, so if the chrome on the repops fades in the weather, I guess I'll keep my original. Any opinions appreciated.

Thanks!

Mike, I can't say for sure on the 69 rear bumper....BUT I was talking to 72 owner at a show who bought a front from NPD....he ended up driving to Ocala twice to hand pick one he was happy with...and even then it didn't fit just right.

I have had both bumpers straightened and rechromed on my car for the same ballpark the repops go for. The front one was done back in 87, just now showing little pock marks. They picked up from my buddy's shop and dropped off......down in Tampa I think??
My .02 is check into that route. repops is repops.

Maybe somebody else has bought a repop that can vouch for them.
Good Luck

Mike,
Do what I just did...drive over to Goodmark.
I bought the rear for my '70 there last week. This way you can inspect before purchase.
Or, Southern bumpers is right around the corner. I could drop the original off on the way to work.
By the way...call me...your intake is finished... ;)
