I did a search but did not get much info on the best way to fix a small scratch. Somehow my nice 71SS has a 2-3 inch scratch on the passenger door. It is very narrow but is easy to see. Scratch remover type wax didn't help. I bought a tube of black touchup paint. Do you apply this with a cardboard type match? Then what should you do? I would appreciate any help.

If you have base/clear paint on the car, apply some paint using a match stick until it is slightly raised from the rest of the surface. Then use some 2000 grit paper and wet sand it smooth. I have done this and it works out very well.
