Here's a picture of what I believe is a real NOS trim ring box and the dealer sticker shows a bar code but the box shows it's age.

I had a used set of 66-67 Nova rocker moldings that got bid way up in a war like that. They were originally $10 swap meet parts that went for $225 on eBay. One guy wanted them for his Dad's car as a gift and wasn't going to be outbid.

Nothing better than 2 guys that really want the same item, if you are the seller that is!

I had a set on E-buddy. same number, same condition. I got $415 for the set. I don't thinkk it's so much the NOS part, but a GM dealer is gonna sell them for about $100 ea anyway.

You got me curious so here's today's bit of really useless trivia: The first item to be placed under a U.P.C. scanner in a retail store was a 10-pack of Wrigley's Chewing Gum at a Marsh Supermarket in Troy, Ohio, on June 26, 1974.

Another funny thing is that Year One sells them for $317/set (part #2651NS).

Funnier still is that neither of the the two competing bidders won. So we will never know how high it *could* have gone.

From the same entry:

the first commercial use of barcodes was in 1966

You go ahead and buy all of the bar coded NOS parts. I'll buy the real NOS parts, OK !

What I was talking about is that srotella67 and nichistisr123 who traded bids all the way up to $390.

Only to be sniped out of contention by penn360 in the final 3 seconds of the auction. There was no time for either of these earlier clowns to respond to penn360 so we will never know just how high that final bid was thanks to Ebay's proxy bidding. We just know it was at least $5 higher than srotella67's highest bid.

Still a whole bunch of $$$ to spend on pretty basic parts.
