I am thinking about putting glass cowl hood & glass fenders on my 70ss. Vehicle is used street/strip/show. I am doing it more for the sake of doing something different. I would appreciate any pros/cons and info on a good supplier of these parts. thanks.

I realize that glass fenders would sound cool, but from what i've heard nobody makes a quality glass fender for show cars. The ones i've seen (i can't think of the suppliers) just don't seem to line up right and require hours and hours of work to make them work. As far as a glass hood, glastek makes the best that i've seen, i have one on my '69 with a 4" cowl and i love it.

i use them on my chevelle, i think they are great, wont rust or dent, and much much lighter. yes they dont line up exactly, but you can get them close. i recomend them. you cane see it on my web site http://members.aol.com/smartasreality/page2.html
its the yellow one. it has glass bumpers too.

Fiberglass fenders are total crap and a waste of time unless you're a good body man and don't mind spending a whole lotta time making them fit, or you can pay someone a whole lotta $$$ to do it for you. A one-piece fiberglass front end would be much much easier and offer greater access to the engine compartment. You can have a lift -off or a tilt front end.
