will a rear seat for a '68-'69 only fit those years? a guy at a local chevy wrecking yard said that, and i just want to make sure he isnt trying to hose me.. basically, will other a-body rear seats fit a '69 chevelle, or am i stuck looking for that years specific? thanks in advance!

the 70-72 rear seats are a couple of inches shorter on each side due to the rear armrest assemblies & filler panel being part of the side panel rather than being just a small armrest base attached to the side panel. other gm-a body seats from 68-69 would also be useful for cores. or you could modify the car by installing the newer armrests & filler panels into your car with a newer (70-72) seat

Just curious. What's the price and condition?

yes, 68-69 Chevelle rear seats only fit 1968-69.
And watch out for 4 door seats. The bottoms are not the same as a 2 door.

If you are recovering the seats, you should be able to get them from any 68-69 A-body. I know Buick Skylark and Pontiac Lemans/GTO are the same.

i recently found out that my 68 came with buick interior (which are shorter seats). I dont have the buick interior in it but i do have a 70-72 rear seat with the filler panel and the arm rests that go down to the floor.\
