Well I got up at 8 and didn't finish until 5, took one 15 minute break, but I got the thing wetsanded for the most part. That was the hardest thing I think I've ever done. 2 week old paint must just be really hard, because I was just rubbing and rubbing forever. It was so hard. The trunk, after I buffed it, was very nice. I was very pleased and my work will be worth it. There is just one question on my mind..

I read to stay an inch away from the edges, which I did. This did leave orangepeel by the edges. I'm wondering if it will be obvious after buffing? I can see it on the trunk, and there is a difference. But is this all just because I'm being too critical? I hope noone else would notice?

Huck, you should still sand the edges, but don't buff on them. When you're finished buffing everything else, you use your hands to buff the edges.

Be very careful when you sand the edge!

I usually don't sand the edges unless the orange peel is really bad. Just buff the edges. When you buff the edges, use half of the wheel only and the pad should roll off the edge. If you roll into the edge, you'll burn through REAL QUICK.

ALRIGHT Huck!!! Glad to hear you're just about finished. Es far as the 'EDGE' goes, I hope you mean 'THE' edge. Never touch the very edges of the panels. Tape them off with masking tape covering ~ 1/4". Sand and buff up to that point without disturbing the tape. This practice ensures you won't go thru the paint and the panel will uniform and smooth. We want to see pictures too!
