: The best tool for the job?

Just cut floor pans out of a donor Chevelle this weekend. I cut them big and plan to trim them down to a reasonable size then mark the floor and cut a hole to match.
What is the best tool to cut the hole in my car. I want to get the patches close so that the welding goes smoothly. I took the panels out of the donor with a cutoff wheel and a Sawzall but have seen nibblers and pneumatic shears that look like they might work too!
Any experience good or bad in cutting tools for a patch?

Don, I had a section of the trunk floor replaced when the guy was doing the body work. I happened to be in the shop while he was working on this. He used a method that you may find useful.

He made a couple of tacked welds on the new piece to hold it in place over the old floor. He then used a thin cut off wheel on a rotary tool. His was an air tool, but I am sure a hand held grinder would do the job.

When he finished one side he butt welded it in place and started on the next side.

By cutting the new and old piece at the same time he had a perfect fit for a butt weld.

I use a 6 inch cut off wheel on my electric grinder for big cuts, and a three inch pneumatic cut off tool for the smaller trimming.
