Hey guys I am ready to fire my 454 in my little Datsun Z car and started wondering if breaking in the cam with only block hugger headers will cause me any problems with bending or burning exhaust valves.

I would have the exhaust fabb'd up before firing the engine, but a local fire marshall code says that the car must move under its own power in the exhaust shop. Since I don't want the exhaust guy running the engine, I might be alittle screwed.

So, do you guys think I'll have any problems breaking in the cam with just block hugger headers? Or am I just worrying too much?

Thanks guys!!

hit the local autozone and get some straight pipe and a couple elbows to and make a temp exhaust to get the heat away from the engine, block huggers are gonna blow all that heat/flames right at your oil pan, probably not a good Idea

You mean you can't even TOW the car to the exhaust shop?
