i have a 70 velle with glass fenders and a pin on 4in cowl hood.. im wanting to go back with steel, and was wondering what i should ask for this stuff (very good shape/black). Also i know gmparts are the best to buy.. but my car will never be a show car and the gm replacment fenders are so high.. has anyone had good luck with the "off" brand replacment steel fenders and hoods?
where might i find the best deals/quality for replacment steel parts?
thanks for any help,
In my experience with glas stuff expect to get about half of retail for the items if they are in good shape. I have bought 68 fenders for under $200 for a pair and a little more for a bolt-on 2 inch cowl glas hood.
Can't help with repop metal stuff other than what I read here on TC using the SEARCH function smile.gif Some of it is good(goodmark?) and some of it isn't. Best source is usually the closest resto-parts dealer to keep shipping costs low. Good Luck

well.. i bought another mans "race" project.. it already had the glass on it.. but i got a great deal on a rust free car. i plan to drive the car a lot and having a hood that takes 2 people to pull off just isnt gonna work for me.. i like the glass other than that.. but there are no provisions for any kind of hood hinge on the car. i just prefer to leave race car stuff on race cars..
