ok 70 chevelle like to swap the odometer part how is it done? how does the needle come off? also the quickist way to get speedometer cluster out. sweep style.

Storm. Don't know about removing the cluster in a 70 car. The needle is just a press fit. Carefully pull and eventually it will come off.

I am not sure about this (it has been a while since I replaced my 66 version with a 70's odometer), but when you remove the scale plate, you will see 2 screws that hold the unit together. When removed the odometer can be swapped without removing the needle.

On removing the needle I have had good luck with moving the needle past the stops back and forth until loose then it will easily pull off.

i hope i can remove the face plate and the odometer all in one so i dont have to try and pull the needle off,

No can do, must remove needle to get face plate off. Done it many times without a problem, just don't force it to much.

will try sat all this because my odometer doesnt work just trying to swap just the odometer dont want to break needle trying to get them off i might just have to change the whole cluster. i have a good odometer to go in,
