does anyone know the widest tire i can fit on the back of my 1968 malibu without hulling it?

depending on your backspace you can easily go with 275x60x15. I know many guys that have them on 8" wheels with 5.5" backspace.

My car is lowered which makes for even less room in the fenderwell and I run 245/50-16s all around on 16x8 wheels. No problems in the rear and only a slight rub in the front when going over a curb a full lock.

I have had 315/35/17's on my 68. They are a total of 12" wide. It just barely rubs the inner wheel well on a hard turn. The rim is 17x9.5 w/ 5.5" of backspacing.
