What's the deal with these? How come some cars with the rocker panel trim have the extensions behind the back wheel, and some do not? Were the extensions an option of the option?
Thanks.
Ed.

the ss cars may have had trim behind the rear wheel, 68 is that way.

I believe this was for 66 only on the SS models. 67 only had the single piece below the door.

I've often wondered about this too. I have owned 2 66 El Caminos and both have had the trim all the way down. I don't know about the Chevelles though the Fisher Body manual does show a molding for behind the rear wheel. Anybody else got any info?

The ElCamino Custom had wide lower rocker trim, with extension behind rear wheel. Have also seen 300 deluxe Elky with no rocker trim at all. I believe they also had a narrow rocker trim avail, no extn. behind wheel.

Eddie:

66 SS received the lower rocker ribbed moldings and the behind the wheel moldings. Malibu did not. The behind the wheel molding is much harder to find in NOS than the full lower moldings.

No Elky SS in 66/67 either.
