I want to replace the old faded windshield washer fluid reservoir on my 1970 Chevelle. It has the sensor wire on it. First, does anyone know how to get the sensor wire off without destoying it or the reservoir? (Yeah, I feel foolish for asking this, but can't get it off and don't want to destroy the reservoir in case I can't find a replacement.) Second, anyone know where I can find a NOS or high quality reproduction reservoir with the sensor opening? (All I can find all non-sensor equipped replacements.) Thanks for the help!

The sensor will pull out just be careful.
I bought a std reservoir from GM and drilled a hole in it.

Thanks Levon--I appreciate it. Have tried pulling it out without success, but now that I know it should pull out I can be a little more aggressive with it. Thanks again.

Try a bit of silicone spray or wd40 around it. Sometimes the plastic shrinks over time and makes it tighter.
Be careful as the inside holder is very fragile and they break easily!!!!!!!!

Try hot water. It will soften the hard plastic and make it much easier and less likely to crack or break when pulling pressure is applied.I've done several this way and no problems.I have several original 70 washer bottles if interested.
