: Where to get aircraft stripper
Glenn1018 Jul 3rd, 03, 3:38 PM That's it.
I called NAPA and Pep Boys; they don't have it.
Any suggestions on where to get it?
The bar at the airport?
Thanks.

Thanks. hahaha, very good. :D
Check with eastwood. They now offer a chemical stripper that is bio-degradeable and environment friendly, according to their newest catalog anyhow.
Glenn1018 Jul 3rd, 03, 4:09 PM Thanks, but I need it this weekend.
I called a local hardware store and the guy said the strongest stuff they have is something called Bix, so I'll try that since they have the Hammerite paint I'm going to use and I have to go there anyway.
I just use Jasco Premium Stripper (the gold can with the Genie on it). It can be had at Home Depot for about $25/gallon. Its water soluble and does its job well. Just don't get it on your skin!
YenkoChevelle69 Jul 3rd, 03, 4:38 PM Not sure what state you are in, but I can get it by the gallon all day long at the local Auto Zone. 7.99 a can.
Daves70 Jul 3rd, 03, 4:42 PM Yup, AutoZone has it. Smells terrible, works great smile.gif
John Himself Jul 3rd, 03, 7:00 PM Walmart has it, cheaper than anywhere else too! just dont get it on your skin, burns like hell, causes cancer too!
Glenn1018 Jul 3rd, 03, 8:02 PM Thanks guys. I've heard about this stuff for years and now I'll finally get to try it.
Don't know if they still have it but Advance Auto Parts did have it. Eastwood has it and POR (Restomotive Labs) has it too.
Joey-T Jul 3rd, 03, 11:27 PM Got mine at Autozone- works great. I was stripping 4 layers of paint from my Corvair and only layer 2- a light blue- put up any kind of fight.
You can purchase a gallon of Martin Senour brand automotive paint stripper from your local Napa store under part #6802.. I just stripped both front fenders on my 1967 chevelle last weekend and the paint literally fell off .. Good stuff..So go back and tell the Napa no it all to sell you a gallon which retails for $30.00 dollars.. You will be gald you did.. Stay away from that Autozone garbage
