heres the problem. my package tray is beyond repair and all of the cars ive located for parts share the same problem. Ive located a monte carlo that looks to be in good shape but not sure if it will fit.It looks the same veiwing it from inside the trunk and in front of the rear seat,thought I might ask before I did this. My intentions are to take the whole piece from where its welded to the floor in front of the shock tower where its welded to the inner side panel along with the deck lide hinges

same year Monte SHOULD be similar in fit and function.. if it's a parts car whats the harm in cutting it out and seeing if it matches up?

The rear glass is suppose to be interchangeable 68 to 72 Chevelle to Monte even though Monte's first year is 70. So I would make an educated guess that the shelf would also swap. For more options look at other GM A bodies ie, Olds Cutlass, Pont Lemans, Buick Skylark etc. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/wink.gif

Could you make a cardboard template or two from your car and set them on the Monte to see if they really are the same? This would save you some work.
