How about an updated weather forecast??? I'm on the fence here...:clonk:

weather report - Saturday, mid 60's, with rain moving in overnight, Sunday rain off and on, high near 60. Does not look good!

Chris and I 've been squwakin' frequently on teh forecast and , yeah, a steady drizzly rain looks like the ticket for Sun am. I bet they cancel it tomorrow and move it to 10/7.

Chris is also getting screwed in we thought he could at least run in the test and tune on Saturday, but they're website says no tnt during the mopar event.

Yet, I'm still going to pack Old Red with road tools, etc, and have 'em at the ready in case we decide to fly down tomorrow. Unfortuntely, its a longshot.

OK so who went & how did ya do? I saw a yellow 65 'velle yesterday coming back thru CT early (12:30) was on a hauler with slicks. (must have broke something)

You must be brave to race your car on Friday the 13th.;) I won't even drive other than to go to work. I have had 2 accidents on that day:clonk: & even though i'm not really superstitious, I don't push my luck.:(

We ran an all-time best in the "Bits & Pieces" Nostalgia Funny Car... A 7.24 @ 185 MPH. We stepped it up for the 3rd round but the car got loose and the driver had to lift. Woulda' been a 7.1 something. In all - a very nice day.

We ran an all-time best in the "Bits & Pieces" Nostalgia Funny Car... A 7.24 @ 185 MPH. We stepped it up for the 3rd round but the car got loose and the driver had to lift. Woulda' been a 7.1 something. In all - a very nice day.

I had a great time except after fielding about 100 questions of where my Monte was I was really missing it.

My New purchase '70 velle ran like a bucket of mud after the first 330' Too Funny.

Great car, but talk about a mismatched combo LOL....:clonk: I had no idea what to expect, hoping for low 14's since it runs real strong on the street with street radials, but as many have found out the strip is a humbling place.

No foul though, I would have bought the car even if it had no motor or trans in it.

in a nutshell,

It is way overgeared if I were to keep the cam in it
Way undercammed if I kept the gear in it
Way undercarbed under all accounts.
stock manifolds and a 1 7/8" exhaust not mandrel bent - enough said
Sears Muzzler mufflers or equivalent - enough said
1200+/- RPM Converter - OH MY :eek:

So I bought back my old 468 that ran 11.30's in the Monte with 3.55 gears, except I need some cylinder heads. Iron Oval Ports would be really good if anyone has any nice ones.

Monte should be fixed by the Friday Track Rental with 4.11's and my Pro-Systems Carb back to make some runs.
