72SS..2nd digit of vin is D(malibu assembled in Los Angeles,CA) and 7th digit is R(produced in Arlington,TX)..can a car be produced and assembled in different locales..WOW!!:confused:

you said your car was assembled in Los Angeles,CA.when actually it was built in texas.

The VIN plate in the photo (1D32U2Lxxxxxx) is captioned as an example of a Los Angeles Chevelle VIN plate and maybe it was the "D" that confused you at first.
