Anyone know where I can find a set of the little rubber bumbers that screw into the ash tray receiver for for a 70-72 SS Chevelle, El Camino, Monte Carlo, etc.? I found the tray and springs -- just need the bumpers.

I've been searching through old posts and found a reference to a supplier of rubber bumpers, but still need this group's help. Below is what I'm thinking of ordering, but need to know what the dimensions should be?

I am looking for the springs and the rubber bumpers also.
I have an original pair of rubber bumpers, but they are in pretty bad shape.

Where did you find the spring?

I found the springs for $4.95 + S&H per pair at the El Camino Store (http://www.elcaminostore.com/onlinestore/product01-4794.htm)

I could have sworn I saw a neat little kit that has all these little rubber bumpers in it through the resto suppliers. Comes with several needed dash bumpers and even console bumpers. I could be wrong.

I've seen several of these as well, but none that I've seen include the ashtray bumpers (glove box, console, doors, hood, trunk, license plate brackets, fuel door -- you name it, but no ashtray). All I really need to know are the dimensions, and I can order something that will work from a couple of different suppliers.

I just ordered some bumpers that should do the trick from McMaster-Carr. They are 5/8" across the base and 9/32" high with a metal washer embedded. I'll post back here if they work, and since I had to buy 100 of them, I feel an eBay listing in my future! Does anyone know the correct type of screw used to attach the ash tray assembly to the SS dash? Is it the same as the screws used for the kick pannels, or is it different? Is it shiny, or painted?

Thanks,
Dave
