I unbolted mine as far as it would go... There are some joints (linkage) that are 'riveted" ...

I placed the fasteners for each joint in a separate zip-lock baggie with a sketch/exploded view of how everything when together.

I als "numbered" all joints, and made sketches of all the rails, indicating which-went-where...

Not too hard...

Should I dig out all the nailboard material? Ita all crusting away. Not sure if the top guy replaces that?

I done mine one side at a time, that way I could cheat and look at the other side to put it back together. It is a lot of extra work but looks a lot better than painting it in one big chunk. Also gives you a chance to clean and lube all the joints. Rodney

I took lots of digital pictures. I really mean alot of pictures. Every possible angle. Then took it apart, had it sandblasted, took a die grinder and buffed out all original manufacturing rough edges, and then had it powder coated black. Just a few areas to trim away the powder coating for re-assembly. Alot of work for a car that has only had it's top up once or twice in lower southern California.
