Sorry for the lame question...
Each kick panel has two push-pull levers (a lower and an upper). What does each do?
It's a non A/C car.
I have an A/C car that has the vacuum diaphram operated vents, can that be swapped over? I'd like to put in new kickpanels with speaker provisions, but I'm sure the lever controls will prevent that.

Mike, On my 69 it's for the Astro vent controls. Not sure on a 72?
Upper brings in air thru the vent in the dash and lower brings in air thru the kick panel itself.
I also have factory speakers in the kick panels 4"x6" maybe?

Mike your going to be going so fast it won't matter. Did you check with Derryl to see if he had any red paint you could use? Jb

No more red paint for me. The coppers see me too easily.
I'm not choppnig up the 'vert. Just the opposite. :)
So, the two vent-rods can both be pulled out, to bring air through both the dash and the kick panel. It's also good to know that a speaker will fit in with the levers. I'd like to get confirmation for the 70-72 models. Anybody?
This is just one of those areas on a chevelle that I don't pay attention to.

Speakers will fit my 69 vert had them in it when I got the car, now I need to find a set of 10ohm speakers to put back in the holes. And yes the 2 vent knobs just blow in the nice HOT engine air, LOL:rolleyes:

On my 71 convertible the lower lever operates the kick panel vent and the upper one operates the dash vent.
