Hey everyone, I have a question for anyone who has recently purchased goodmark quarters, I need to replace the quarters on my 71 Chevelle and would like to hear how well everything is lining up. I have been reading many posts here and have read that some stampings have not lined up the best so any help would be appreciated.

I had the goodmark quarters installed on my 66, and they fit very nice, but not without some massaging. They are probably the best out there. repro wise. The lines are correct,

Cruzer I bought a pair of Goodmarks for my 70. Some people complained that the metal was a different gauge of metal but when I measured mine it was close to stock gauge. The goodmarks are a great panel everything lined up and fit great. I have a pair of NOS quarters and checked the fit with them after I hung the goodmarks, I got the same fit and finish with the goodmarks as I got with the NOS quarters. There were a few spots that needed some massaging, but remember any panel needs some massaging in order to get the proper fit. It doesnt matter if the panel is NOS, repo or used it takes some metal work to get it to fit to the car. The cars are now thrity some years old and built in a era where tolernces were sloppy. Just make sure you buy the full OE quarters not the half jobs or 95% get the full. Now that these full quarters are out I dont know why anyone would buy a half quarter, they might be cheaper to buy but in the end they are more expensive to install then the full. Buy the goodmarks you wont be disappointed, I have pics of the quarters you if want to see how they fit...Eric

I used goodmark on my 71, Of course they needed some trimming here and some tapping there, but all in all great panels fit and finish wise http://www.chevelles.com/forum/redface.gif) Good Luck!

Thanks for the replies, it makes me feel more comfortable shelling out a grand for a set of quarters knowing that these are the best out there, without spending the cash on NOS. I dont have enough courage to attempt this myself so I will be having an experienced body man put these on for me.

Here's the kind of comparison you are looking for... I installed new quarters on my 72. One was GM, one was Goodmark. In my opinion the Goodmark was a little nicer. The lines were a little crisper and the metal seemed exactly the same in strength and thickness. I dare anyone to pick which is which now that the car is done!!! There's pics on my website.
