The rear chrome trim on the used domed SS hood I got for my 71' does'nt fit quite right (the trim was on it when I got it). It looks like it needs to be pushed onto the hood about an additional 1/4" in the area between the dome and the edge of the hood but I can't seem to budge it. Is there a trick to removing or installing these trim pieces? It looks like it needs to be persuaded with a rubber mallet, but I'm afraid I'm going to damage it. any advice?

Thanx,
Dwayne

The newer hoods, (mine is NOS but I heard repros are the same) neeed to have about a 1/4 ground off all the way across.
Dont know why, some do, some dont. Sounds like yours needs it.
