I was just starting to put the front end back together on my '70,and I'm having a little trouble with the fender extensions. The gap between the extension and the fender is a little uneven at places.Enough where you can see daylight thru the crack.Should I put some sort of sealer in there or what? The fenders are the originals, but the extensions are from True Connections. Is this the problem?
Thanks

Yes. You may need to file the edge straight with 80 grit on a long board. If its already painted well i guess you have to live with it.

As 70isfine said you need to file down the leading edge of the ext. But depending if the gap is big enough to throw a cat throu then you need to slightly tweak the ext to shape or just buy a different ext.

I have more pairs of exts then I care to count and each one fits differently. One ext might good on one fender then look like sh!t on the next. These cars were built very sloppy...Eric

I'll try to work the extension then.It looks like most of the unevenness is on it anyway.I've got another question while I'm here.My car is a stock malibu that I found in a field in the country, and I'm turning into a SS clone.Does anyone know the exact(or pretty close)placement of the SS side fender emblems? The fenders that are on it have 3 holes drilled for the malibu emblems.

The Factory Assembly Manual shows the exact placement of fender SS emblem. Purchase one for your year and you'll have tons of info. About $25 or so.
