Hi guys, I recently removed the cowl from my car with the aid of an air chisel. Whle getting it ready to paint, i was vaccuming down inside of the area(The other side of the kick panels). While looking down there, i noticed there is nothing connecting the output of the blower motor to the vent, the vent tube is just sticking out into the cowl area. I turned on the car, and activated the heater and realized this method was not efficent at all. Is this the way it is supposed to be, or am I mssing a part. Pleas Help.

are you talking about the vents in the kick panels. If so then these only feed in fresh air that is forced in through the cowl and down in to the vents on both sides. And you can shut these on and off by hand.

No, I am referring to the actual inlets that blow out the air located at either side of the dashboard, I will try to get some pictures posted ASAP. thanks

I thank there is ether a plastic duct work pice. Or a or a trash bag type material hose that runs to these vents. My 66 has plastic duct work going to the defrost vents and plastic duct work going to the floor vents. I dont have dash vents on my chevelle. If you can tell me what year it is I can look at my other cars to get an idea.

Hi guys, sorry about the misunderstanding. I have come to the realization that the Chevelle heater does not work like a modern auto, in that the dash vents act simply as fresh air vents, right? Anyway. I am missing the flappe door that is on the other side of the kick panel. God only knows what happened to it, could it be a factory mistake? Anyway, is there anyway I can get a replacement? Thanks
