Hello everyone at the body shop! It's time to paint the car & I want to do it myself. I am new to painting so I will be asking questions here over the next few months. Info on the car: its in K200 primer right now, all major patch work done, car has been blocked out twice, needs some bodywork on the hood & final blocking on the whole car then painted.

The (rough) plan: *This project is on a very tight budget!!* Ordering a sharpe reman Platinum LV gun, using PPG concept single stage paint (Butternut yellow), spraying the car in my shop at home.

The questions:
(1) will I need more than 1 gallon to paint the whole car? (under hood & doorjambs also)
(2) What sealer would you recommend over the PPGK200 primer & under the PPG concept paint?
(3) what is your opinions on painting this car panel at a time. Reasons for asking are compressor is bare minimum for the gun, much less overspray, less to repaint if I screw up. I plan on color sanding the entire car.

Thanks for any help & here are pics of the subject!

You will probably get away with only one gallon. I would use a sealer that is close to your color (creme) so it covers well so you don't need more coats than you need.
It also depends on if your going to color sand it or not so you may want to put an extra coat on so you don't go through. I think also you should be fine painting it seperate as long as it comes out of the same can. If it were metallic I might try it all at once.
just my opinion

Jason, not much info I can suggest but just
wanted to say cool looking '67 Beaumont,
it will look sharp in Butternut yellow, one of
my favorite colours, with my favorite year Beaumont...

Cheers

Hey Jason...nice looking car!! A question to you a little off the subject, but, what are the wheel and tire specs that you have on there? Are you running dropped spindles? Car sits with a nice " attitude"....

Thanks

Thanks guys glad you like the car! Here are the tire specs...

Anymore comments on how much paint I might need & 'panel at a time' paintjobs?

Front 205/75/15 15x5 rim
Rear 275/60/15 15x8 rim 4.5 backspace
stock replacement 327 springs all 4 corners
(with a big block under the hood)
I've had bigger & smaller tires on the car but this combo seems to be just right. Tons of tire clearance. Thanks again!
