Help Please.

I am wondering where I should start a resto. My 68 chevelle convertible has been garage kept since 1988. I didn't want to do a frame off resto, but I keep seeing rust where I didn't see any before. the left rear quarter has about 4" x 4" rust hole. the cowl is good. the trunk and convertible trim is good. I just noticed some rust under the driver floor, and the bottom of both front quarters. should I start with body or mechanical? What do you recommend who have been through this? I think that most restos work on the mechanical first, and the visual last. I was looking at doing that as well, but I don't want the rust to get any worse than what I have already discovered. the car had undercoting applied in 88'. I was showing the car in 1990 but the car has rarely moved out of the garage since 96'. your thoughts and experience in these matters is much appreciated.

thanks
Andy

In all honesty, if you don't know where to start, then you probably shouldn't start.
Are you aware that the restoration process can take 6-12 months at best or even years.
If you work full time like most people, and plan to do most of the work yourself, you'll have that car apart for years.

Are you looking to do a full frame off restoration?
