at gm parts direct they have two listings for hood hinges one for a ss and one for non ss cars

anybody have any ideas why is one for a cowl hood because they are heavier?

Robert, the hinges are the same for a flat hood, SS and CI. Same hinge from 70-72. The spring is the one that is different. The SS and CI hoods take a heavier duty spring. But in all reality a spring for the flat hood will work just fine on the SS and CI hoods...Eric
