The "correct" GM upper radiator hose for '64-'65 SB w/Air is #3850688 ("Cut to length"). It has a single molded bend. The manifold end has to flex to go on the water outlet.
The Gates #20814 has a second molded bend that gives a cleaner fit. I found I had to cut off about 4" at the manifold end.
I'll add a picture if I figure out how to do it.

I've tried to post the picture, I guess I need a tutorial. Can anyone help?

OK ... I figured it out. Here's the picture ~

Good info. Thanks, Ray. :beers:
Does it clear the front compressor bracket OK? Can't tell from the photo. Got any other engine shots to share? I'm working on a 64 with air.

djw ~
The hose clears the bracket (and everything else) by 2" or more. The closest thing is the A/C compressor belt, at 1" cold and about 3/4" under pressure.
I have no other engine pictures at this time, let me know by email if there's a particular angle you need for reference in your project.

Is it just me or in your picture does it look like the hose was cut too short and is barely clamped onto the radiator outlet?

That end of the hose was not cut. My radiator's inlet is long enough to allow comfortable clamping area. A shorter inlet might need slight rotation of the hose to clear the belt.

I replaced the lower hose in my 64. Two different auto parts stores showed a Goodyear hose, and it was too short. An indie auto parts shop had the Gates. Fit like a charm.
I seem to remember when there wasn't any other brand but Gates.
I do like the idea of the Goodyear hi-miler hoses for my Roadmaster when I need to replace.

Update ~ I recently found a NOS GM upper hose for these A/C cars. It bears the same part ID, #3850688, but it has the double bend! It seems the repops got it wrong. :(
If you can't find a GM #3850688 with a double bend, go for the Gates #20814. It's virtually identical after the circumcision! ;)
