i could not own a chevelle in 1969, a deuce and a half was my mode on transportation back then. what i need to know, was what where the windows like when the car was new. i have rebuilt the door hinges, replaced the window rollers, and got the windows and doors aligned. i also have new felt for the doors. when the car was new, did the windows flop around? it seems that there is alot of slop in the windows with the way they are held inplace. any information will be helpful.

They should not move. They are held in by 2 bolts and 2 rollers.

i'm looking at the 69 service manual and when you say two bolts do you mean the stabilizer strips at the top of the doors? if so, that seems to me that it's a combination of forces. the rollers working with with the upper strips working with the felt holding everything stable. yes, no??
