Hello once again. I just installed an Autometer ultralite speedometer in my 69. Everything is hooked up nicely. I calibrated the speedo and it is almost identical with a gps speed. Anyway. The problem.. The needle seems to be bouncing around a bit.
Any suggestions? Again. It's an electric speedo.
Thanks
John

I have the exact same problem. In my situation I've come to the conclusion its the manual to electric sensor, it won't tighten perfectly on my TH-350 and so it wobbles a bit. Might be the same for you, not sure if you have an AM radio but in my car the AM won't work anymore because of interference from the electric speedo. I just get a buzzing noise, the faster I go the higher pitch the buzz. When the spedo goes to 0mph the buzz stops. Just my experience with them not sure if it helps.

Hmmm.. That's interesting. I have the same tranny. I was thinking maybe a bad ground or something. I hope it's not the sensor. It's brand new. If fits nice and tight as well. This is going to be interesting. I have no radio installed by the way.

The shaking on mine is only makes about 2-3mph difference so I didn't think too much about it. The only thing as far as I know that could cause the shake is the signal. Unless the spedo signal is getting interference from something then its probably the sensor. Is yours bouncing more than mine? (2-3mph) if it is, changing physcal spedo gear in the transmission might help. My car came with 2.43 rear or something like that and now it has 4.11 rear which means the speedo is getting more signal for less speed which could make mine more accurate. Really I was hopeing it to be perfect and you were probably aswell.
The AM radio issue is fairly annoying as now I'm limited to CDs and FM radio, being a classic car it would be nice to listen to the oldies stations which are AM in my area. Ironically someone told me the old antenna built into the window doesn't get FM only AM and here I am with perfect FM and destroyed AM.
Anyways, good luck, I certainly need it when working on my car.

Thanks for the reply. Seems as tho mine is about 5-10 mph. I called summit racing and they said to tap down on the sender with a deep socket and if that didn't work they would send another gauge. I think you are correct with the gear. Now I just have to find one.
Thanks again.
