is this what an original looked like? or should the flat area on top. right of the cross over to the intake runner be trimed like the one on the left?

So, no one has an original car they can look at. and tell me if that big flat spot of gasket is sticking up above there intake.

Well, I finally found out the pic above is incorrect. this is what it should look like just as I assumed.
