I have a 67 is there a trick to removing the back seat I though it would just pull out. No luck.

Push the bottom of it toward the back of the car and lift. There is a "hook" under the front part of the seat on both sides you have to clear. Once clear of that, it'll pull right out.

Sometimes you have to set on the seat and bounce up and down as you push back at the same time.

Dean how are you able to come up with all these good pictures instantly.

IMO, the easiest way to remove a stubborn back seat is to pull the seat up and push on the loop under the seat at the same time. You can reach the loop through the gap between the seat and the floor pan. Last time, I used a "Wonderbar". It was pretty easy to do as it has a notched end that allows you to push without sliding off the loop.

Unfortunately it's sometimes not as easy as it sounds. My '71 is so stubborn, I'm going to have to remove the front bench so I can use my legs to push on the front of the seat bottom because I've tried for 3 days now and CANNOT get it to release. My 70 GTO came out on the first try with one hand and it had never been out before! Good luck.

That's how my -69 seat is. Try the Wonderbar.

My '72 was almost impossible also. I had a '70 Lemans long ago that came out easy.

Sorry for my ignorance; is the "wonder bar" a slang name for a pry bar or is it a specific tool I should try??

It's a prybar, I think "Wonderbar" is actually just a Stanley trademark. This is what I'm talking about (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00002X1XT?v=glance).
