Im spraying a metallic (light colored green) on my car...Im also replacing the hood....the hood has been done in a bone colored primer, but its perfect and ready to spray as it is.....the rest of the car will be done with a light gray primer/sealer before the basecoat...should the base coat cover both of those colors equally? I dont want to get any difference in shades of the base coat...Just curious...I can always do the hood again with the gray as well to make it uniform if needed. Thanks....John

IMO If your doing BC-CC you will be able to detect A shade difference on the hood. spray the hood the same as the reat of the cars primer/sealer or pick a value color for your frist base coat, followed by your chosen hue.

IF you use SpiesHecker base coat there will be no need to use value shades or any of that nonsense. It will get complete coverage in 3 coats or less on any color primer.
