: Ground Up's 95% quarters for 70-72

Has anyone used the 95% quarters sold by Ground Up for a 70-72? I'm trying to find out how far up towards the back window they go. Do they go past the window, thus including a little bit of the window channel? My window channels are rotted a little on the quarter-side, but the trunk filler portion is OK. If these 95% quarters will cover the area, it would save me a couple hundred dollars.

Also, does anyone know who the manufacturer is, and how well the fit and finish is?

If these are the ones that are basically a full 1/4 w/out the sail panel, then they cover about the first 3 or so inches of the vertical corner of the window channel. I bought a repro set of these same ones (Dynacorn), but have yet to install them.

Not sure who makes the Ground Up version...

Yep, those are the ones. If they cover about three inches, then they will work for me. I looked on Goodmark's website, and didn't see any 95% quarters (without the sail panel), so I guess they are Dynacorn?? How well do their quarters fit and look?

Why not just buy the FULL OEM type quarters???
Sounds like more work then whats needed!!

I haven't installed them yet - still getting the 1/4's cut out properly.

The gauge of the metal seems a little bit thin, but once in and fully supported by the surrounding bodywork, I don't think they'll be a problem. A few folks have complained the sheetmetal was rippled, but mine are fine.

Why not buy OEM full 1/4's ?

Well, let's start at $365 each for these...
I can invest the $1500 savings in a lot of places and still be perfectly happy with the outcome! If this was a points resto, then yes - OEM, but not for a weekend 454 cruiser for me and the kid!

The price difference from a full OEM TYPE
is around a 100 bucks per side. An OEM TYPE would be Goodmark's OEM style quarter, that isnt cut short on the sail panel.
Ive also seen those 95% panels in person, they look like crap.
Plus if your window channel is rotted out the full's will cover it. Nothing like installing new quarters only to need to make patch panels because it was too short just to save about 100 bucks.
