: Where to Get Windshield Moulding Retaining Clip

This is for my 69 SS.

The stainless moulding that goes along the bottom of the windshield and partially on the cowl is secured by screws and a steel clip on either end.

I, of course, am missing one of these little clips :( . Anyone have a source or perhaps some extras?

Thanks guys.

If they are the same clips used to hold the trim on the sides and top I have some, can you post a picture of it?

I’m looking for the same clip. I haven’t looked thru my catalogs yet but I wanted to joint this post. Also is the trim installation shown in the assembly manual? If not could anyone post a picture of the installed clip. Just a shot but is the clip the same as the ones used to hold the bottom of the windshield?

Dan, I picture would be very helpful.

Thanks,

Mike

I'd love to post a pic, ( no scanner ) trust me. The clip is about 1" wide by 1 1/2" long, with a small hole drilled on on end. The other end is crimped slightly. The end with the hole fastens to the cowl with a philips screw, and the crimped end holds the edge of the stainless molding. I don't think I can describe it any better. Once installed the clips aren't visible,as they are covered by the rear top edge of the front fender.

nope sorry, I have trim clips for the side and top molding and the windshield support bracket can be obtained from NPD (C-10027A-1A) 4.95 but I don't have anything like what you need.

Sorry... could you make a pair?

Might be an option, I'll have to check around about that.

Try Hillcofasteners.com . They have every clip known to man. I've sent them pictures of clips I was looking for and they've identified it. Their catalog is a pictorial and the fasteners are way-cheaper.

Dan...I think these are the clips (on right) you need for the lower windshield molding. The clips on the left hold the windshield up during installation.. http://www.chevelles.com/showroom/71SSBB/Untitled-10.gif

Isn't that the same clip style for the malibu rocker molding?

here's a pic...these are used out towards the bottom/lower edge of the large stainless at the base of the windshield. Typically held in with a phillips head screw. You'll notice the car in the pic didn't ever have these installed....the spot where these go is just to the L of the clip.

These are also hidden once the fenders are on a car.

My 66 ElCamino (malibu trim level /SS rocker mouldings)

Uses those same clips to retain the rocker moulding (the ribbed one)
