jfman Sep 4th, 06, 11:03 AM I think it's a board member selling this one.
MrBill66Malibu Sep 4th, 06, 11:25 AM This is a board members, If you have extensive work to do, I know these are very handy. You can buy it, use it, then sell it or rent it out. When I was racing circle track, A good friend had one and we would borrow it. It really saves your back!!!!!!!!!!! We use it to make repairs, weld with it and paint with it.
Alwhite00 Sep 4th, 06, 3:47 PM Helped on a couple of rotisserie restorations and it's really nice. This works best when the car is COMPLETELY gutted & stripped. When we were done the floors lookewd as nice as the top of the car. We also used it for the frame. (blasting & painting)

Gravy_D Sep 4th, 06, 4:15 PM I just got my body up on one I built,I havent done much with it yet,but it sure seems like it will be nice for the underbody work. If you have the welder, you can build a nice one a whole lot cheaper than buying
67chevelleconvertible Sep 5th, 06, 10:27 PM Sure looks cool when you see a car on one.

bhawk Sep 9th, 06, 6:21 PM I built one and used it for my chevelle. But its primary value is repairing the underside of the body. You should not be welding new panels, say quarter panels on with the body on the rotissarie. You need to do you patch panels and quarters and trunk panels with the frame bolted to the body. It is a huge amount of work to remove interior, glass, etc to put it onto your rotissaire. So if you go that route, allow more time to finish your project. In my case the real value was having it on its side so I could sandblast the underside. I built my own pressure blaster also. If you are going to send that work(sandblasting) out, maybe the rotissarie isn't going to be cost effective. The rotissaire is of no value doing body work on the fenders, hood, doors, trunk lid, etc.
Freddy Mercado Sep 9th, 06, 7:41 PM They are not necessary, but very useful. Makes finish body work, like blocking, just a little easier.
70Elky396 Sep 10th, 06, 12:14 PM My rotisserie is based off this design: http://macc.chevelles.net/rotator.htm but I made several changes. Check out my showroom to see pics.
Good luck!
rusty66 Sep 11th, 06, 1:37 AM I too built my own version, but this was for a coupe and used 2 chain hoists. Follow the link below and hit "Body rotisserie" in the left frame. If you have any questions, please let me know.

I've used my homemade version for three cars now, including my Chevelle. I got my plans from the Chevytalk.org site.
rubadub Sep 12th, 06, 4:15 AM MileHi, is that center chain connected to a turnbuckle or a chain tensioner or? Just curious, do you have to draw it in at the bottom to keep the ends on?
Rob
MileHiSS Sep 14th, 06, 4:46 PM It's just a safety, with a come-a-long on the end of it.
