Anyone know where you can buy the 1/2" rubber striping material that is stapled to the inner fender to prevent squeaking when rubbing in the frame areas of the wheel well?

There was a post on this topic not too long ago, and Von had an excellent suggestion regarding your question. He used silicone if I remember correctly, run a bead of black silicone, let it set up, then install the inner fender. Who would know but you? You can't see it that's for sure! It sure won't trap moisture like the factory stuff did.

I just ran a 1/4" bead of black silicone RTV where the rubber strip normally goes. Let it dry before installing the i.f. I thought the rubber was there to eliminate squeaks.

You could make your own if you have a friend that does rubber roofing. Just snatch a piece of the rubber material from him and cut your own and staple it in.

Slightly off topic, but may help someone who is searching.

When I bought my car the rear was raised and the 275/60s where on 10" rims with no backspacing. Under load, the tires would get rubbed when a bump was hit.... would eventually have popped them. As a quick fix at 5:00a.m. I cut some fuel hose in two 1 foot sections. Then sliced it length-wise. It fit right on the outter fender lip. Screwed tight with the existing screws and a washer.

after the trip a good portion of the rubber was warn. boy was I lucky http://www.chevelles.com/forum/cool.gif
