Hi fellas.
I'm working on a 67 malibu coupe.I have a Jegs 3 inch mandrel bent exhaust system but I don't have mufflers yet.I've mini tubbed the car and will probably fill the extra room [about 2 inches per side ]with tires.I realize that the offset/offset is normally used but I'm wondering if this is still the best route given the changes made. The car has a 12 bolt[68 up length] and a factory sway bar [from a 70].Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks.

i have the 3 inch mandrel flowmaster kit on my 66. it is not mini tubbed, but the fit is very tight over the axle (stock 66 12 bolt) . and the ss control arm braces are there to take up more space .i'm using the offset offset mufflers as mentioned. i'd say you should mock it up and see where it ends up. my kit is in approx 4 pieces per side and there is alittle give to adjust the way it fits over the axle and exits. did you have to notch your frame to get the extra 2 inches ? did it effect your inner wheelhouses or trunk hinges ? and lastly what size tire did you get under it ?

I have the 3" Jeggs system and ordered the offset/center, had to send them back.....no way would they work, they put the tails to far out.
Offset/offset is the only way, for my car, but then again my car is not tubed ?
I used series 50 Delta Flow "Still noisy".
You may have to do some cutting and welding or think about 2.5' tails?
I will eventually which to those, I think they may be a little quieter and easier to install plus stock tips?
Just reread your topic and it says 1967 "duh" I have a 69, sorry, but the Idea may be the same? Except for the tails?
Hope this helped?

Thanks for the replies guys.

Grovey: Yes, I had to notch the frame. I made my own tubs from 16 gauge. I welded the trunk hinge braces to the tubs. the car body is still on the rotisserie and the frame is bare. I just finished painting the frame, first with eastwood rust encapsulator, then gloss black. The wheel tubs are 15 ins. deep. I've got the longer rear end (same as 68 up), It's not the original, so I may have a little extra space there.

TC: I thought the exit pipes were towards the outside which would make the center/offset closer to the center of the car. I could be wrong. Also, the upper control arms are longer on a 67. Does this mean there's more room ahead of the rear end on a 67? The Jegs tailpipe has a join on the vertical section just ahead of the rear end. I can adjust the height there. I haven't decided on control arms yet. I have some stainless pipe so I may make my own.
