Did the '64 Malibu's ever come with two red tail lights and back up lights in the bumper. In my 64 that I'm in the put back together stage on a frame up had two red lenses in the tail lights when I got it, along with back up lights in the bumper. I haven't noticed any others that were like this, I only see the red upper lens, and the white with red center reflector.... Hmmm dont know.

The '64 did not have backup lights in the bumper. The taillights were in the upper half of the tail light assembly and the backup lights were in the lower half of the tail light assembly. Backup lights were not standard on all models, however. Either way, the '64s did not have backup lights in the bumper. I would venture a guess that someone has installed a '65 bumper and backup lights on your '64.
