I am experieincing power loss when my 68 shifts from second to third. This happens when the car is in the drive position or I shift it manually. First and second gear pull hard all the way up to about 5400rpm, but as soons as I shift it into third I can feel a considerable amount of powerloss. I am running a 383, quadrajet, th400, and 3.08 gears. If the carb is a little rich, wouldn't I feel the power loss in my other shifts??? Or could my fuel pressure be set too low(3.5-4.0psi)?? OR do I maybe need to advance my total timing?? Any help would be greatly appreciated... Thanks B.

Could it be running out of gas?? Does it really nose over or is the power loss less radical??

The fuel well is small on a Qjet and it refils slower than the motor killer holley. There is a larger needle and seat from a buick and you need to be sure the float is set right.

The power loss is on the less radical side. WHen I shift from 2nd to 3rd it just feels sluggish, but is still running and pulling decent. If I am running out of fuel, should I try turing up the fuel pressure? Thanks B.
