: Another Dash Light Question

I'm driving my '69 Malibu last night and all of a sudden the dash lights go out. I checked the gauge fuse (the only thing I knew to do) but it isn't blown. The guys at Car Quest are reasonably sharp and suggested that I might have a bad headlight switch.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

Thanks!

Both are possible as is the lead that connects the dash lamps to the switch has come off(or failed) or the ground has gone away.

I had the same problem when I first got my car, was a rusty fuse holder. Make sure the fuse clips are good and clean.

Check to see if you have tail lights. The dash light circuit gets its power from the tail lamp circuit. If you lose tail lamps, you also lose dash lamps. Also check the tail lamp fuse, amd the dash lamp fuse (very short one)
