I am thinking of getting a paint mixer. Should I get a electric or air powered unit? Anybody know a good website? Remember I will be using this once a month as a hobbyist so I don't need a Sata. This is the thing that you shake a gallon or quart with before mixing it. Like the jobber uses when he sells it.
Thanks, Zach

Do you have a drill press? I got a gizmo that goes in a drill press and the paint can attached to it with a wrap-around spring. The press is turned on a low speed and the can is gently shaken. I think I got it at some home supply store. It has worked well and has never spat off a can lid.

I would check Ebay or pawn shops for a used one. I bought an electric Red Devil shaker that was originally over $500 from an old paint store going out of business for $100! It works better than any of the newer ones i have tried.

That Red Devil electric was far from $500.00, how about $1,200.00 or more! They are VERY expensive. The air Red Devil is about $500.00. That is what I have, very nice and plenty for the home hobbiest. There is an "Astro" taiwan version that I have seen in a few shops that will run you about $200.00.
All I know is this, I would never live without one.
